    What This Archive Shows

Manuel Saquicela, owner of MB & S Construction, regularly parks work trucks in the large paved parking lot he built on his property on Pocono Lane in Danbury, CT. They carry the MB & S Construction LLC name. This page is a running photo archive. A new photo is added at the top whenever I photograph them, each with its date.

    What Danbury’s Zoning Regulations Say

Danbury’s zoning regulations, Section 3.G.5, limit commercial vehicle storage at a one-family home to one vehicle of up to 1.5 tons kept in a private garage. They allow only one registered vehicle of 3/4 ton or less, used for transportation rather than commerce, to be kept outside a garage.

    What Happens Next

I have asked the city to review this and will post what I learn. New photos will be added to the archive above as I take them.

    My Opinion

Work trucks belong at a business site, not in a residential neighborhood. That’s my opinion, and the dated photos are there for you to judge.

  • Danbury Contractor Manuel Saquicela Paved Over His Back Lawn on Pocono Lane

Part 2: of Project SUNRISE, a dated record of what’s happening on Sunrise Road, Pocono Lane, and other streets and neighborhoods in Danbury, CT.

    Posted October 23, 2026. Read Part 1.

What I See From My Yard

Danbury contractor Manuel Saquicela, owner of M B & S Construction, removed, by my estimate, about 90 percent of his back lawn on Pocono Lane and paved it over to make a large lot. Large work trucks carrying the M B & S Construction LLC name are usually parked there, typically two at a time. At times, one of the trucks sits behind the shed he cut in half. This has gone on for a long time.

Before and After From Google Earth

Google Earth’s historical imagery shows the backyard at this Pocono Lane property before and after the lot was built. The first image shows the backyard with its lawn. The second shows it now. Google Earth images are below in the slider.

    What Danbury’s Zoning Regulations Say

Danbury’s zoning regulations limit parking to approved on-site parking spaces and areas (Section 8.C.1.c). They require an erosion and sedimentation control permit for grading, stripping, or excavating land unless an exemption applies (Section 8.A.3). Parking areas are for transient parking only, with no dead storage, repair work, or servicing (Section 8.C.8.b).

    What Happens Next

I’ll add new parts to Project Sunrise as events happen.

    My Opinion

To me, it’s a paved-over monstrosity. A parking lot for work trucks belongs at a business site, not in a residential neighborhood. That’s my opinion, and the photos are there for you to judge.

    Video From October 19, 2026

Video filmed October 19, 2026, showing the shed addition on Pocono Lane in Danbury, CT.

What Happened on Pocono Lane in Danbury, CT

Danbury contractor Manuel Saquicela, owner of M B & S Construction, built a shed on his own property on Pocono Lane in Danbury, CT.

The Shed Passed Inspection, Then an Addition Was Added

The shed passed the city’s inspection. After the inspector left, he added a bump out that ran right up to the fence.

The City Questioned It. It Was Cut in Half Instead.

A complaint was filed, the city reinspected, and, as I understand it, they told him to remove the bump-out that crossed the setback. He cut it in half at the setback line, I suppose, removed the roof, and left it exposed.

    What Happens Next

Who knows will update this as events happen.

    My Opinion

To me, that’s a douchebag thing to do, especially for someone who builds for a living. I don’t know why he did it. If you’ve dealt with something similar, or know how the city handles cases like this, tell me in the comments.
